Get new look for your old kitchen sink

All you have to do just changing your kitchen sink faucet. This is the key to making your kitchen sink look new.

Today there is a much wider choice in the type and design of faucets for the kitchen sink. Kitchen faucets evolve from basic on / off valves for delivering water to a sink into beautiful pieces of artwork. When choosing a new kitchen sink faucet, consider one with a functional “carbon block” filters. This filter can reduce common impurities such as chlorine and lead.

Replacing old faucet is easy remodeling project that you can do by yourself. The first step to replacing faucet is removing an old sink faucet. How to remove an old sink faucet:

  1. To remove the old faucet, first shut off the water, either at the supply stop valves or at some other valves in the water supply lines.
  2. Clear away everything from under your sink for a clutter-free workspace.
  3. The hardest part of replacing a faucet on a kitchen sink is loosening the nuts that hold the faucet onto the sink (by Creative Publishing International). Spray penetrating oil on tail-piece mounting nuts and supply tube coupling nuts. Remove the coupling nuts with a basin wrench or channel-type pliers.
  4. Remove the tailpiece mounting nuts with a basin wrench or channel-type pliers. Basin wrench has a long handle that makes it easy work in tight areas.
  5. Remove faucet. Use a putty knife to clean away old putty from surface of sink. If reusing the sink, clean the surface with mildly abrasive non-chlorine cleanser.
